-Syar hearing on gravel mining postponed until September 16th.

Syar
The Syar hearing on gravel mining in the Russian River has been postponed again.
Originally scheduled for Tuesday, August 19th, it is now on September 16th.(Time to be announced).
Urge the Supervisors to deny the permit and uphold the 10-year limit to protect our aquifer and farmland! Please write a letter or attend the hearing on September 16th at the Board of Supervisor’s. More info on the impacts of gravel mining are available on our website at www.russianriverkeeper.org

Riverkeeper Benefit
On Tuesday, September 9th from 5-8 p.m. you are invite to come to Guerneville
to the Rainbow Cattle Company to benefit the Riverkeeper Park. Enjoy some food & drink, meet the Riverkeeper and show your support for the health of the Russian River! For info call 869-0206.

Riverkeeper Stewardship Park Community Day
On Saturday,September 13th we will be hosting a Community Day from 9-1 p.m.
•The annual en plein air painting event – all artists are invited to paint
with the option to also display other work
• Informal concert by the River Choir, 11:00 a.m.- Noon
• Tour the Park with Don McEnhill, the Russian Riverkeeper
• Light refreshments served
• Other highlights to be announced!
Where: 16153 Main St., Guerneville, located on the north bank of the Russian River directly upstream of the pedestrian bridge. Access is down a driveway in front of Sonoma Nesting Co. At the bottom of the driveway look for the blue and white sign that says, “Russian Riverkeeper Demonstration Riparian Restoration Project Future Community Park.” Parking is available near the sign.

17th Annual Russian Riverfest
Sunday, September 21st is the date for this years Riverfest! Join us to share our love for the River & the bounty of the harvest season. Enjoy a gourmet BBQ Dinner, Wine & Beer Tasting, live music by Steve Pile & the PileDrivers, Guest Speaker Linda Sheehan, Environmental Awards, Kids Activities & a huge Raffle.

Russian River Watershed Clean-Up Weekend
September 27-28th
The mission of the Russian River Watershed Cleanup Committee is to coordinate cleanup and removal of trash in the Russian River and its tributaries between Cloverdale and Jenner. They organize and coordinate teams of volunteers for an annual cleanup and promote stewardship of the Russian River watershed.For more info and to sign up go to www.russianrivercleanup.org.
