This is a reminder that there is a VERY important meeting on Wednesday, June 9th at 6:30 PM put on by the Sonoma County Water Agency at Oddfellow’s Hall on First St. in Guerneville. (Just down the street from the Old Bridge and the Chamber of Commerce.)
The main topic will be the State Board’s recent approval of the Agency petition to lower Russian River flows in our area from 125 cfs to 70 to 85 cfs. We are in the process of developing comments on Bill Hearn’s recent article in the Sonoma County Gazette which just came out (it’s on their website at www.sonomacountygazette.com). We only recently saw his article and hadn’t read it yet when we wrote our own.
RRWPC recently put out a mailer with letters opposing this action to the Water Agency and the State Board. We will have extra copies at the meeting. If you already received them, please mail them in to the addressee on the letter. They are different from the two we circulated two months ago. The current one is for this year’s flow only.
