Action to Ban Polystyrene Foam in Cups

Despite your best efforts, that polystyrene foam cup your coffee came in will most likely be part of the 97% of polystyrene that never gets recycled.1

Instead, it’ll end up in a landfill or worse — the environment — where it’ll break down into smaller and smaller pieces of plastic that may eventually harm a seagull or sea turtle when they mistake it for a tasty snack.

It doesn’t have to be this way. We can get rid of this unnecessary type of single-use plastic and keep it from harming wildlife — but decision-makers need to hear from you.

Tell Gov. Newsom to support a statewide ban on polystyrene foam cups and containers.

Thank you,
