This extreme heat ranking system will help Californian’s stay healthy when temperatures rise by forecasting and mapping heat risk at the community level. CalHeatScore will notify Californians to coming heat waves and connect people to locally available resources. By translating risk into recommended thresholds for action, CalHeatScore will also be a resource in the preparation and planning for extreme heat events. OEHHA is building CalHeatScore on behalf of CalEPA and as required by AB 2238 (Rivas, Chapter 264, Statutes of 2022) |
